Some Deer and a Chaffinch

I allowed myself an hour for lunch today and decided to take a short walk with a friend. Its surprising what you can see if you are quiet!

  1. Adders already! Their habitat up here is still covered with snow..

Like your boar comments re the Countryfile slot; culling and using profits to fund conservation work has got to be the way forward, same for deer, unlikely there will ever be wolves or lynx back in the UK's lowland forests unfortunately.

    Cheers

  3. Hi Dave,

No I don't think they will introduce them now, but it would make it a very interesting place if they did and a lot more people would respect the forest for being a wild place, unlike they do now! They tread it as a playground!

  4. Hi Pencilportraits,

Yes, I have been watching him for the last 4 years. He is a brave one alright, but I hope he doesn't bite a dog, or worse an unsuspecting child. That's my only fear. Saying that, he has been there for at least the last 4 years without an incident (that I'm aware of).
